The documentary “Free Beer Tomorrow” isn’t really about beer.
“So many people talk about the magic they experienced here, and they don’t talk about what they drank,” filmmaker Julia Applegate said. “They don’t talk about the beer because it wasn’t about the beer.”

The film scene in Columbus is certainly growing and while a handful of big names have shot movies nearby in recent years, they’re not the only ones getting a greenlight.
Several local filmmakers are getting to tell their stories, thanks to grants from the Greater Columbus Arts Council.

Free Beer Tomorrow was awarded a $41, 283 grant from Women and Philanthropy at The Ohio State University. Grant dollars will be used to investigate the relationship between the closure of lesbian spaces and loneliness/social isolation in this population.

Ohio just approved its 3rd ever LGBTQ+ historical marker. Opened in 1980, Summit Station was Ohio’s first and longest-running lesbian bar. Now a campaign is underway to memorialize that history.

Every Night is Ladies Night is back. On Wednesday, October 30th and in commemoration of LGBTQ+ History Month, FBT will screen clips of the upcoming documentary, followed by a conversation and Q &A with several patrons featured on screen.
