LesboRetro/Candle

Every note in this candle was chosen to resurrect a room that saved lives. Tobacco leaf and smoked fir needles carry the haze that hung in the rafters of every lesbian bar that ever existed — the smoke you wore home like a second skin. Leather speaks to the butch women who took up space unapologetically, whose presence was its own kind of politics. Patchouli roots us in the era: the marches, the mimeographed flyers, the conviction that community was worth fighting for. Beneath it all, amber and vanilla offer what those bars actually were — warm, enveloping, safe. A place to exhale. Bergamot and black currant open the door with brightness, because joy lived there too, not just survival. This is not a candle about nostalgia. It's about remembering that the women who drank and danced and organized in those rooms built something that mattered — and making sure that smell, that feeling, that particular kind of freedom, is never forgotten.
